Dr V Malladi is a practising Minimal Access Surgeon in Navi Mumbai and Kharghar. He offers his services towards problems in general surgery and surgical gastroenterology. He is a Founder Member of Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI). AMASI is a subset of its parent body - Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), responsible for spreading awareness and training laparoscopic surgery to the medical community.
Dr Malladi completed his graduation and post-graduation from Mumbai University. During his Masters in General Surgery, Dr Malladi received the “Dr. Gool Contractor Memorial Award”, awarded for the best Trauma registrar – 2001 by Staff and Research Society, L.T.M Medical College & Hospital, Sion, Mumbai.
Dr Malladi completed a Basic-One-year laparoscopy training in Mumbai at Shrikhande Clinic, under one of the pioneers, Dr. Anand G. Nande. Next, Dr Malladi was selected for a two-year fellowship at GEM hospital, Coimbatore, under the guidance of, Dr C Palanivelu – a world renowned laparoscopic surgeon.
Dr Malladi has published several scientific papers in peer reviewed indexed medical journals about Laparoscopic surgery. He has contributed chapters to books on laparoscopy by Dr C Palanivelu’s - Laparoscopic Hernia surgery & Art of Laparoscopy. He has been an invited speaker in various conferences in and around Mumbai.
Dr Malladi joined hands with surgeons of other disciplines to start a dedicated, specialty laparoscopic surgery centre in the area of Kharghar. This centre was setup for achieving the goals of AMASI – “MAS for MAS” - Minimal Access Surgery to Masses by 2020. Dr Malladi conducts frequent interactive sessions for the general public to create awareness about surgical diseases and its related laparoscopic surgery.
Common laparoscopic surgeries performed by Dr Malladi include laparoscopic surgeries for diseases including abdominal pain, appendicitis, gallstones, hernia, intestinal diseases, gastro-oesophageal reflux, diaphragmatic hernia, splenic disorders, liver cysts etc.
Dr Malladi has taken great interest in developing laparoscopic surgery for hernia – which is a common problem. His work has helped many of his patients to return to work earlier, pain-free. Dr Malladi believes that this advantage offers patients to resume work earlier. Hence, his mantra about Laparoscopic Surgery - “Return to Life, Quickly”. is apt for present lifestyle especially in nuclear families.
