Privacy & Policy - MITR
• Contact Us / Appointment Enquiry Form: your name, phone number, email address, the department or doctor you're enquiring about, and any message you choose to add.
• Website Chatbot: the details you enter while chatting with us — typically your name, contact number, and the nature of your enquiry (for example, the speciality or general reason you're reaching out).
You are never required to share detailed medical history, reports, or sensitive health information through the chatbot or contact form. Please share only what you're comfortable providing online — our team will reach out to discuss anything further over a phone call, where it's easier to have that conversation privately.
Like most websites, when you browse mitrhospital.com, some technical information is collected automatically — such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how long you spend on them — through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 3 below).
Because the Website doesn't require login or registration, we do not collect government IDs (such as Aadhaar or PAN), insurance or billing details, or in-depth clinical records through the Website itself. (Section 7 explains how information is handled separately once you visit us in person for a consultation or treatment.)
• To respond to your enquiry or appointment request, and connect you with the right department or doctor's team.
• To call, message, or email you back regarding your query.
• To send appointment reminders or information you've specifically asked for.
• To understand how visitors use our Website, so we can improve its content, navigation, and performance.
• To comply with applicable law, where required.
We do not use the information you share with us on the Website for unrelated third-party marketing, and we do not sell your personal information.
• Essential cookies, which are needed for the Website to function properly (for example, submitting the enquiry form).
• Analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics), which help us understand how visitors use the Website, so we can improve it.
• Preference cookies, which remember choices you've made on previous visits.
You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Some parts of the Website, such as form submission, may not work as smoothly if you do.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share the information you provide through the Website in the following circumstances:
• With MITR Hospital staff and the relevant department, to action and follow up on your enquiry.
• With trusted service providers who help us operate the Website, chatbot, telephony, or analytics tools — solely to help us respond to you or run the Website, and under confidentiality obligations.
• With government or regulatory authorities, where required by applicable law.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — such as restricted access and secure systems — to protect the information you share with us against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information to
a high standard.
We retain the information you submit through the Contact Us form or chatbot only for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for follow-up and record-keeping, or as required by law — after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
This Policy covers our public Website only. When you visit MITR Hospital in person — for a consultation, diagnostic test, admission, or any treatment — additional medical, administrative, and billing information is collected as part of your care. That information is handled under the Hospital's separate clinical confidentiality
and medical record-keeping practices, consistent with applicable law (including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) and accepted medical ethics. Details of these in-hospital practices are available at our reception, or on request.
In relation to the personal information you've shared with us through the Website, you can:
• Ask us what information we hold about you, and request a copy.
• Ask us to correct any inaccurate or outdated information.
• Ask us to delete your enquiry/chatbot information, or withdraw your consent for us to use it, where we're not otherwise required to retain it by law.
• Opt out of receiving further calls, messages, or emails from us at any time.
To exercise any of these choices, please contact us using the details in Section 11.
Our Website is intended for adults seeking information or booking enquiries, and is not directed at children. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian submit any enquiry on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the Website.
Our Website may contain links to third-party websites (for example, doctor associations or health resources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites, and we encourage you to review their policies separately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The updated Policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
