Personal Experience
Dr Ashwitha Shenoy is a Pediatric surgeon and Consultant at MITR Hospital and Hypospadias Foundation in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
Dr Shenoy did her MBBS from Kasturba Medical college, Manipal. After her completion of MBBS, she did her DNB general surgery from Bangalore Baptist hospital. After DNB general surgery she did her MCh. Pediatric surgery from one of the topmost medical institutes in the country - Jawaharlal Institute of Post graduate Medical Education and Research Institute (JIPMER) at Pondicherry.
Dr Shenoy is an excellent clinician, keen researcher, and a good orator. During her training in Pediatric surgery, Dr Shenoy has presented papers and delivered lectures in various state and national conferences. At the Tamilnadu and Pondicherry State chapter Conference in 2018, Dr Shenoy was bestowed Kesavan Gold medal in Pediatric Urology for her research paper. Dr Shenoy was honoured with the Bursary award at PESICON 2019 for her paper on Robotic surgeries and also awarded the Best poster prize.
Dr Shenoy is committed to helping the children and their families with best treatment and cure for Pediatric urological problems such as hypospadias, hydronephrosis, Posterior urethral valves, PUJ obstruction, PUV, undescended testis, hernia, reflux, epispadias, ureterocele and phimosis.
As a team member at Hypospadias Foundation, Dr Shenoy works with Dr Singal to offer cutting edge surgical techniques for primary and failed hypospadias in children and adults. Dr Shenoy is also setting up an Antenatal Hydronephrosis clinic for helping parents with the right information and counselling for fetal hydronephrosis. Dr Shenoy is also leading a study on the parental awareness and psychosocial aspects of hypospadias. Such information will help Pediatric Urologists and Surgeons formulate the right approach to counselling the families before and after surgery.
